Augustinian Resemblances

Augustinian Resemblances is a research initiative by Alberto Garzoni and Dr. David Bennett, centered on fostering a shared theological language through the reception of Augustine’s thought across Christian traditions. This project aims to use these “Augustinian resemblances” to enhance ecumenical dialogue, unify theological scholarship, and renew Church and societal life.

British Centre for Durkheimian Studies

Directed by Sondra Hauser, the Centre provides a forum and hub for the study of religion from Durkheimian perspectives.

Categories of Religion and the Secular in Islam

Directed by Alexander Henley, CRSI is an interdisciplinary network of scholars interested in critical approaches to 'religion' and 'the secular/non-religious' as discursive categories in Islamic contexts.

Centre for Philosophical Theology

The Centre for Philosophical Theology has grown out of the Centre for Theology and Modern European Thought, whose activities were for many years overseen by Prof Joel Rasmussen. The Centre aims to continue the traditions of the CTMET, while also ranging more widely, to include work of all kinds in philosophical theology and philosophy of religion. The Centre seeks to provide a central reference point for students and staff with interests in philosophical theology, giving news of events and initiatives in the subject across the University.

Centre for the Reception History of the Bible

Directed by Christine Joynes, the centre fosters exchange between scholars working on biblical texts across the Humanities, creating a network that focuses on exploring the use and influence of the Bible.

Healthcare Values Partnership

Led by Joshua Hordern, the ethos of the partnership is to develop working relationships between patients, researchers, healthcare practitioners, managers, and policy makers.

The Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion

Directed by Alister McGrath and Andrew Pinsent, the centre conducts research into religious beliefs and theological concepts in relation to the sciences.

McDonald Centre

Directed by Joshua Horden, the centre fosters conversation both between Christian theology and other disciplines, and between academia and those who shape public deliberation and policy.

The Oxford Psalms Network

Directed by Susan Gillingham, the network examines the wider impact of the Psalms in the development of Judaeo-Christian culture, language and identity from the earliest times to the present day.
