Revd Canon Bruce Kinsey

Biography:

After studying Theology and Philosophy at Kings London for his first two degrees, Bruce trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy and as a supervisor of Therapy with the Society of Analytical Psychology London. He was involved with the Cambridge reseach group in Science and religion, and wrote and published with them. Projects there included ones on Religious Violence and Spiritual Healing. He has edited therapy journals, and maintains an interest in therapeutic issues and the Clergy, and the psychodynamics of Religion.

Research Interests: 

My interests relate to understanding religion with a psychoanalytic perspective. I am a registered psychotherapist practitioner with the UKCP and supervisor of therapy registered with BAPPS. I am actively involved with supporting and understanding some of the dynamics of religion on believers, and clergy some of that has been in an inter-faith context. I also work in the area of LGBT issues and the Christian faith.
